Beatbox Application

If like me, your mouth is unable to produce two sounds at the same time, then this application is made for you. Beatbox is a musical experiment, a soundboard, an instrument. You can record a sound into each of the 8 colored tiles and play them back: your creativity is the only limit.

Even if the principle may seem childish, this application quickly becomes addictive. It was particularly impressive to listen to the creations made by some of my singer or musician friends.

Features

The following features are available:

• Record up to 8 sounds and play them back
• Import a sound or choose one from a sound library
• Press & hold to loop a sound
• Record & share your mix
• Save your creations and reload them later

This mobile application was developed in Java for Android devices. The main challenge was performance: when the user presses a tile, the recording must start instantly. A simple sound lag would make the application unusable and would generate frustration for the user.
